Former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite is urging people in Northampton to get behind a campaign to donate £150,000 worth of free holidays to servicemen and women who have been injured, or their families who have suffered a bereavement.
To get involved, would-be holidaymakers need to log on to www.firstchoice.co.uk/heroes; call 0800 916 5164; or buy a copy of The Sun newspaper and take it in to a First Choice shop when they book a holiday between now and February 20.
One holiday for a family of up to four people will be donated for every 20 holidays booked by the general public through this initiative.
The campaign has been backed by the Ministry of Defence, which recognises the positive impact holidays can provide on affected families.
Armed Forces Minister Bill Rammell said: "We always welcome any gestures of support for our brave personnel.
"We know they value greatly any recognition of the sacrifice they make on behalf of this country.
"This offer of free holidays is generous and will be warmly received."
