Six rushed to hospital after car mounts pavement

Six people were rushed to hospital after a car involved in a collision mounted a pavement in the early hours of the morning in Northampton.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning at the junction of Gold Street and Horsemarket.

A collision took place between a black Fiat Punto and a red Vauxhall Astra at around 4am, resulting in one car mounting the pavement outside Fever nightclub.

Six people were taken to Northampton General Hospital - two pedestrians, the driver of the Astra and three passengers.

Five of the injured have been released from hospital, while one remains in hospital with serious injuries.

One man has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on delayed charge bail pending further enquiries.
