Northampton Saints have struck a new £1 million sponsorship deal with builders merchants Travis Perkins.
The Northampton-based firm, which already sponsors the team, has confirmed a further four-year agreement at Franklin's Gardens, taking its long-running association with the club up to at least 2012.

Saints chief executive Allan Robson said last ni
ght he was delighted with the new deal, which is understood to be worth in the region of £1m.

He said: "The Saints and Travis Perkins have been associated with each other for a long time.

"In our archives we have team sheets from the 1940s with adverts for Travis and Arnold, a forerunner of Travis Perkins.

"Over the last seven years we have developed a superb relationship.

"The club is indebted to Travis Perkins for its continued support and I am delighted we will be taking this relationship into the next decade."

Travis Perkins has been the Saints' main sponsor since 2001 and the latest agreement is the second time the company has extended its sponsorship deal at the club.

The firm is also supporting the club's community project to take rugby into schools throughout Northampton.

Linda Doughty, trade marketing director at Travis Perkins, said: "Travis Perkins has a very rewarding and satisfying relationship with the Saints and we're very pleased it will be continuing for another four years."
