A protester from Northampton has been campaigning at the Oval Cricket Ground in London where the inquest of Jean Charles de Menezes has been taking place.
John Howsam, who stood for the UK Independence Party in Northampton North in the 2005 General Election, protested outside the Oval cricket ground in south London at the opening of the inquest and returned yesterday as the jurors were sent out to consider their verdicts.
Meanwhile, inside, relatives of Jean Charles de Menezes staged a courtroom protest just minutes before jurors were sent out.
The 27-year-old Brazilian's cousins stood up in front of the jury and unveiled T-shirts displaying the message: "Your legal right to decide - unlawful killing verdict".
Coroner Sir Michael Wright directed the jury earlier that they could return only a verdict of lawful killing or an open verdict. The inquest, which has been taking place less than a mile from Stockwell Tube station where Jean Charles was shot dead, is drawing towards a close, during its third month of sitting.
