A motorbike owner has appealed for people to be on the look-out for his Yamaha YZF-R1 after it was stolen in a raid today.
The bike went missing at about 1pm this afternoon from Moulton Park industrial estate, and witnesses reported seeing it being bundled into the back of an old grey transit-type van.

Officers were called to the scene and have since traced the van using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, although the bike has yet to be found.

Its owner Richard Osborne said: "I purchased this bike as a present to myself on my 30th birthday. I'd paid off all my debts I had run up starting my business, and this was to celebrate I'd finally 'made it'.

"Today is my 35th birthday and my bike I purchased five years ago and looked after lovingly has now been stolen."

Anyone with information can call police on 03000 111222.
