Police have charged five men between the ages of 19 to 24 following a string of burglaries in Northampton.
Men aged 23, 21, 19, 21 and 24, all from Northampton, have been charged in connection with five burglaries in South Northants, West Hunsbury and Thorplands over the past seven days.

Detectives working on Operation Renegade, the operation set up to focus on burglaries in Northamptonshire West, say they will continue to actively target anyone who commits burglary.

Sergeant Gan Thayanithy said: "Since the operation was set up in June, we have conducted numerous inquiries into burglaries across the area.

"We have also undertaken a lot of disruption work on known offenders, leading to a reduction in the number of burglaries compared with last year.

"This downward trend has got to be good news for the people of Northampton and we will work hard to maintain that decrease."
