For goodness' sake...if the pub had made sure the area couldn't be overlooked...what's the problem ? There's too much of this happeneing...being told what people can & can't do.
I think anyone who was prepared to go along to the event deserves a medal...in this weather !

What a waste of police funding - Northampton really has no hope whatsoever if this is the best use of time our forces can come up with. It wont be long before we all start questioning whether its worth paying our council tax - one ridiculous decision after another.

The pub has told me that the police cited s.66 Sexual Offences Act 2003, Exposure. There is absolutely no possibility that this event would have contravened that Act.
When the Sexual Offences Bill was being debated the Home Office and Parliament recognised that naturists needed to be protected from over officious police (and others) so the Exposure clause was amended. It was done quite deliberately to prevent it from being abused in this way. The police have just assumed that nudity is illegal and that any likely sounding law must apply. The offence of Exposure only applies to people using their genitals aggressively, for example flashers.
We will be writing to the Chief Constable and depending on the reply we will take this further. Prejudice and abuse of the law such as this is totally unacceptable.

The world is full of surprises and the secret naturist, who tends to explore country side and other areas not usually explored by 'normal' people and who also present an attractive target by being naked, tend to attract all manner of interesting creatures, many of which are intend on biting, stinging, eating and generally making life a misery for any unfortunate who passes by. Naturist look like you and I and come from all walks of life. You will find it to be a relaxing lifestyle that is free of the daily stress we all experience. Naturist groups like http://www.naturistspace.org are looking for people who are open minded and want to enjoy the company of others of a like mind.
