News in Brief: Exhibition depicts sights around town

A photographic exhibition depicting sites of historic interest in and around Northampton will go on display at Abington Park Museum from today. The snaps have all been taken by members of Northampton Camera Club, and will be exhibited until Saturday, August 30. For details, call Northampton 838111.
* PARK Avenue Holiday Club, which has been taking place for nearly two decades, will take place at Park Avenue Methodist Church, Abington, Northampton, from Thursday, August 13 to Sunday, August 16. Parents who would like their five to 11-year-olds t
o take part can obtain an application form by phoning Northampton 761479 or emailing holidayclub@ parkavenue.org.uk.

* A LATIN girl is needed to play a part in a film alongside an actor from Northamptonshire. Nick Stoppani of Slapton, near Towcester, is playing the lead male in It's Over, a five-minute film. He is looking for a local female in her mid to late 20s who must look Latin to take part in one of the scenes which should take two days to shoot next month. * THE Ginger Pig Band will perform on Northampton's Market Square on Friday, August 14. The jazz band will entertain the town free of charge, and the show starts at 7pm. For details, visit www.market squareevents.com or call Northampton 838555.

* THE Love Food Hate Waste roadshow will be at the Market Square in Northampton on Saturday, August 8, for Food on the Square. Celebrity chef Richard Fox will show people how to make the best use of their leftovers and the county council's waste management team will be on hand to give advice about composting and recycling.

* AN exhibition celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Beadworkers' Guild will take place at Northampton Museum from Saturday, August 29 until Sunday, October 4. Admission is free, and more details can be found at www.northampton. gov.uk/museums.

* BLUES and rock band First Offence will play in Northampton as part of their 25th anniversary tour. The trio will play at the King Billy on Thursday.
