Man on way to shops assaulted and robbed by duo

A man was grabbed by his throat and assaulted by two men during a Sunday evening street robbery in Northampton.
Police are appealing for information about the robbery in Louise Road, Northampton, at 6.50pm on Sunday.

The man was walking along Louise Road when he was approached by the men, who asked him if he had any money.

The victim asked the men to leave him alone but they grabbed him, with one holding him by the throat and the other pinning one of his arms behind his back.

He was punched in the stomach and searched before the men ran off with items of minimal value towards Lorne Road.

The first offender was described as white, aged 17-20, 6ft tall, of medium build and wearing a white baseball cap with a black jumper, a black coat and dark trousers.

The second offender was described as white, of similar age and build and around 5ft 9ins tall.
