Iceland step in to take over Woolies sites

Frozen food giant Iceland has bought 51 former Woolworths stores and plans to create 2,500 new jobs - but Northampton's store is not on the list.
The announcement comes just days after Woolworths stores closed their doors for the very last time, including the firm's Abington Street branch in Northampton.

Iceland tried to buy all of the 815 Woolworths stores when it first went into adminstration but the company rejected their offer.

Three-quarters of the purchased stores are in the South of England and 10 are in London.

I am glad we are not getting another Iceland.
What we need is another food store.
ie: Asda supermarket would be good.
No more walking all the way too top of Grovenor centre to shop at Sainsburys.
Now days I dont bother with sainsburys its just too far out of the way, For me and I should imagine for a lot of elderly people.
We now shop for grocerys out of town.
Knowing NBC it will just become another Phone S.hop or Cafe
