Human waste is being left by truck drivers
Landlords on a Northampton industrial estate have taken action after lorry drivers parking up dumped human waste outside their property.
As well as rubbish, bags and bottles containing human waste were left outside the premises of the FROME Partnership, in North Portway Close, Round Spinney.
Landlords of the partnership contacted TNT, a firm whose drivers park on the road.
They also contacted the Chronicle & Echo and the borough council's environmental health department, to highlight the problem.
Blacksmith Phil Miller, part of the partnership, said: "We've been here for about three years and there was a bit of litter at first, but bags of faeces and bottles of urine have been appearing over the past 18 months.
"It's been getting progressively worse."
Mr Miller said the plastic bags were being dumped by drivers who park their lorries along the road.
He said: "We know it's not all of them, it's just some of them. It's just a few who spoil it.
"They tie their rubbish up and put it in a bag, but instead of taking it to a bin they throw it in a hedge."
The partnership said it found the situation "totally unacceptable and should not need to be tolerated in the 21st century".
Mr Miller said: "TNT responded really quickly. They are dealing with it at the highest level."
Stuart Ellis, another partner with FROME, said: "It's not litter we're bothered about, it's other things.
"We have spoken to TNT, who are responsible for all the lorries that are parked.
"They have given us their assurances that the drivers will be spoken to."
Arthur Elliott, the hub manager at TNT, said: "We are taking the situation very seriously.
"We have been out and spoken to all of our drivers, both international and domestic.
"We have said the behaviour is unacceptable and we will be monitoring it from now on."
