Girl cut from car by firefighters following crash

A teenage girl had to be cut from the wreckage of a car following a crash in the early hours of this morning.
The 18-year-old was rescued from the vehicle in Hillcrest Avenue, Spinney Hill, Northampton at 3.50am and taken to Northampton General Hospital by ambulance.

Fire crews from Moulton and The Mounts attended the scene.

Meanwhile, crews were called to a blaze at a branch of the Abbey National bank in Northampton's Market Square last night.

Firefighters from Mereway and The Mounts were called to the bank at 9.15pm on Wednesday.

Internal and external facia boards were damaged in the blaze while there was slight smoke damage to the first and second floors. Nobody was hurt.
