Flats plan is given go-ahead

Developers have been given permission to build a controversial block of flats in Kingsthorpe after lowering the height of the building.
In March, Northampton Borough Council's planning committee told Moulton Park-based developer Venulum Property Investment to rethink its plans for 19 flats in Kingsthorpe Grove.

The company had planned to demolish a car showroom at the corner of Kingsthorpe Grove and Stanhope Road to make way for the development.

But councillors complained that the four-storey apartment block would be too big.

After a review making the largest building just three storeys tall, the council this week passed the plans.
