A motorist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after crashing into a village pub in Northamptonshire.
The man was hurt when his car collided with the external wall of a pub in Byfield, causing considerable structural damage.

The collision happened at about 11.05pm on Sunday, July 20 in Banbury Road, Byfield, when a Honda Accord car travelling towards Daventry left the road and collided with roadsigns and then the external wall of the Cross Tree Inn.

The driver of the car, a 28-year-old man from Chipping Warden, was taken to Horton General Hospital in Banbury with serious injuries.

The road was partly closed for around five hours to allow the scene to be made safe and forensically examined.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information can call police in Banbury on 08453 700700 or the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
