Radio presenter Anna Murby has signed off from her daily breakfast show for the final time, announcing she was to leave BBC Radio Northampton after more than 15 years.
The station stalwart, who started working for the BBC straight after finishing at school, began her career making tea and answering the telephones before taking over the popular 6am to 8am slot in 2002.

Saying her final goodbyes to her listeners this morning, the 37-year-old said: "I'd like to say thank you very much for the messages that have come in.

"Thank you very much also for making this such an enjoyable job.

"It's been 15 years now and this was pretty much my first job, although I actually started just making tea, white with one sugar, for Jim Hawkins.

"Little did I know then that I would be sitting here saying goodbye, 15 years later."

Born in Northampton, Ms Murby attended Campion School in Bugbrooke before going to Uppingham School with her twin sister Vanessa.

Laura Moss, managing editor of BBC Radio Northampton, confirmed she would be replaced by Joe Pignatiello and Julia Morgan.

She said: "Anna Murby has been such an important part of the station and attracted many new listeners at breakfast time. I'd like to thank her for all her work over the years and wish her every success in the future."

Joe Pignatiello has joined BBC Radio Northampton from their sister station in Jersey. Julia Morgan is a familiar voice on the station after working as part of the consumer programmes team.

Maybe Beeb Northampton will now be dragged into the 1990`s.

I travel extensively in my job and 103.6 & 104.2 has to be one of the worst local BBC stations I have listened to.

Its slow, unexiting, patronising and so dull when compared to Radio WM or 3 Counties!

Have you got a stutter Renes Youngster?

Anna Murby was not only a lovely voice on the radio, but a very pleasant individual. Having worked at the station for several months, It was a pleasure to meet and talk to both Anna and Bernie.
