Castle Primary School in Northampton, which used to be in special measures, has been named in Ofsted's annual report of outstanding schools and childcare providers for 2008/9.
Castle was one of 13 schools, 46 childcare providers and three social care providers in the county recognised in the national report. The school in St George's Street, Semilong, turned itself around from the bottom to the top category in five years. Hartwell CE Primary School, near Northampton, was named outstanding for the third time running.
