Panicked residents of Northampton say they are now believers in UFOs after capturing eerie soundless lights in the sky on video.
Heidi Spencer and her partner spotted a cluster of bright lights from their flat in Abington while watching TV on Saturday night.

They stood up to investigate only to see one break off and scoot soundlessly across the sky and disappear.

Mrs Spencer said: "They were bright orange and moved quite steadily from the north west and went off to the south. We lost sight of them in the clouds. When I looked back the other one had gone.

"We managed to get a video of it on my phone but I was pretty freaked out all night."

Mrs Spencer was not the only one who spotted the unexplained lights above the town.

Elaine Byrne, of Park Avenue North, Abington and her 18-year-old daughter also saw some of the lights from their bathroom window at about midnight.

Did you spot the silent lights over Northampton on Saturday night? If so call UFO reporter Nick Spoors on Northampton 467033 or click here to send an email.

She said: "I saw a brilliant orange light in the sky. It was not far at all from us.

"I shouted to my daughter so she could witness it and we watched it before it went over us.

"I went to the other window to follow it then my daughter shouted to me that another one was there. It was strange."

Other readers as far away as Earls Barton also saw the lights on Saturday but no one has yet offered a feasible explanation.

However, worried Northamptonians may be comforted by the fact that the Ministry of Defence, which collects data on sightings, said no reports of a UFO had been recorded and deemed them no threat to national security.

A spokesman said: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity.

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

Anglian water blamed a 'bunny' for the outbreak of crypto but with these further 'sightings' of strange phenomena in the sky, i am starting to believe all those stories posted on here a couple of weeks ago.
They are coming for our resources!! and they take on the shape of bunnies!!

My Fiane Simon and I were walking our dog along Birchfield Road East close to Abington park at approximately 9.30pm last night (24/08/08. As we walked we saw 2 bright orange lights travelling quickly across the sky in an easterly direction. At first we thought it was planes or helicopters but no sound at all could be heard, we then thought perhaps laterns.. but the speed was just to fast an we had no wind last night.. We watched for around a minute as they moved silently and smoothly over our heads then as they moved off towards the east they seemed to fade and disappear.. very spooky .. I wonder if anyone else saw them?? It seems strange that they were in the same area as the reports from July by Mrs Spencer and Byrne. Not sure if I believe they are UFOs but some thing strange that is for sure!

shed some light on something that I saw outside my house in Cairns Australia at night on Sep 12
at about 8:30 ,What looked to be a bright orange star
very far away at first began to get closer to us ,it was quiet and moved slowly across to our right ,I was shocked at first since I new it was not normal and it was not an aircraft It looked more like a fire ball
or energy ball,The same light came back again about 20 min later and followed the exact path as before ,this time I was able to get some photos of it I don't know if you have ever experienced something like this but it was exciting, and extremely terrifying at the same time, each time it came past it took about 5 min to travel past us.

Please let me know if you would be interested in seeing a photo and have any
comments about such an event,

I have seen two sightings of these things in the sky. The first was on sunday 2nd November 2008 outside my house. We saw one come over at a quite fast speed, and then two more came together about 5 mins later. Then tonight on Saturday 8th November 2008 we saw one coming at a quite quick speed, and then another one a minute later. We went downstairs and saw two more quite close together.

It was very odd and quite scary, does anyone know if they are UFO's??
