A man has been arrested in Northamptonshire in connection with a find of three cardboard boxes of class-A drugs worth £2.5m left outside a man's house.
Officers recovered the boxes containing 52kg of class-A drugs from Birdingbury, near Rugby.

Police said they had recovered the drugs after a resident in the village contacted them to say three cardboard boxes had been left outside his house and he was suspicious of their contents.

The estimated street value of the drugs is about £2.5m.

On the same day, a 47-year-old man was arrested in Northamptonshire and taken into custody at Rugby Police station on suspicion of the possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

He was charged the following day with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

Hassan Ceesay, of South-ast London, appeared at Nuneaton Magistrates. He pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Warwick Crown Court at a date to be fixed.

Police said they were continuing to investigate the incident and were liaising with the Metropolitan Police as the inquiry continues.
