A 1980s Motorola phone has been valued at £30 at a recent event organised by Hansons Auctioneers in a Northamptonshire village.
Auctioneer Charles Hanson, who regularly appears on BBC1’s Bargain Hunt, held a valuation day at Cold Higham Village Hall last month.
Items of interest included the 25-year-old phone and a rare Meccano boys toy set.
Mr Hanson said: “It’s remarkable what items are collected via our online live internet auctions. The Meccano set is expected to fetch between £50 and £70, whilst even today we are seeing a rise in interest in early mobile phones – the Motorola phone is expected to realise around £30.”
The next valuation day in Cold Higham is on Wednesday, October 8 from 11am to 3pm.
