With the Easter bank holiday around the corner, many of us will be looking for something fun to do with our family and friends.
And although there is some rain forecast, there are also a couple of days that are expected to be dry, so they could be the perfect time to head out for a countryside walk. And what better way to enjoy a country walk than to incorporate it with a pint or two – it is bank holiday weekend after all.
Luckily, Northamptonshire offers both gorgeous countryside to explore and some fantastic food and drink, so here are a few of our favourite pub walks in the county.

9. Cottingham Village Walk
The main attraction on this gentle 1.5 mile walk is the Royal George pub, which many consider to be the oldest inn in the country, potentially dating back to the 13th century. From the pub, you’ll wander around the picturesque village of Cottingham, and find another pub, The Spread Eagle, along your way. This is the most difficult walk on our list, beginning and ending at the Windhover pub in Chapel Brampton. At 22.9km (14.2 miles), the walk will likely take more than five hours to complete, and can get very muddy, but those who are up for the challenge will be rewarded with stunning views of Pitsford Water and the local wildlife. This is another circular walk, beginning and ending at the Fox and Hounds pub on Harlestone Road. Passing through fields and woodlands, the walk is around 2.6 miles long, making it more suitable for beginners, and can be completed in just over an hour. Photo: Fox and Hounds
