Sevilla have decided against continuing their move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Didier Zokora.
The Spanish club had been in the running to sign the Ivorian this summer.
But Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has revealed that talks between the two clubs have come to a halt over the valuation of the player.
"The distance between what they asked and what we are willing to offer was so great that we left it there," said Del Nido, according to teamtalk.com.
"Zokora's not the only option. The number two on our list is just as valid an option as Zokora, and is younger.
"We requested permission from Tottenham to talk to him because we wanted to know what his disposition was, and he would be very excited to play in a competition he never has before in the Champions League.
"But we must deal with a level head."
Zokora is reported to have attracted interest from Sunderland, with Spurs keen to recoup the £8m paid for the player.
