Croatia coach Slaven Bilic believes Luka Modric will prove to be the "star" of Spurs' side next season.
The 22-year-old is set for a £15.8million switch to White Hart Lane from Dinamo Zagreb after the European Championships.

Chelsea were also reported to also be in the hunt for the highly-rated midfielder, but former West Ham and Everton defender Bilic reckons a link-up with Juande Ramos will suit him best.

"Tottenham is perfect for Luka," said Bilic. "Certainly better than, for example, Chelsea where he may have landed on the bench.

"At Tottenham he can get used to the Premier League. Modric will certainly be the star of the team."

Ramos is reported by the Spanish press to be in his homeland looking to complete a deal with Barcelona for Cameroon international forward Samuel Eto'o.
