Premier League: Tottenham new boy writes open letter to fans

New Tottenham signing Heurelho Gomes has written a letter to fans of the club he is leaving to join White Hart Lane.
The 27-year-old Brazilian's has penned an open letter to PSV Eindhoven supporters expressing regret over his departure and telling them they will remain in his heart forever.

He is set to join Tottenham subject to being granted a work permit.

"When I think of PSV, I get immediately emotional," began the letter on PSV's official website.

"I have much regret about the way I left PSV, but I am glad and relieved that I could talk out everything with the club chiefs.

"This club has offered me the chance to develop myself as a mature player, to play in tournaments like the Champions League and to celebrate four terrific championships.

"Both me and my family have PSV and their supporters in our hearts forever. I have the deep wish to be able to defend the PSV goal again sometime."

Gomes, considered as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, announced his intentions to leave the club this summer after a number of disputes with the PSV chairman, which resulted in a public slanging match.
