Fiorentina have entered the race to sign Russian star Andrei Arshavin after it had looked like Tottenham had a clear run at the playmaker.
Representatives of the Euro 2008 star had help talks with the White Hart Lane club, and Arshavin seemed destined to move from Zenit St Petersburg to London.

But now agent says another team is involved, and reports in Italy say it is Fiorentina, who are in need of a player after Adrian Mutu was given permission to talk with Roma.

Arshavin's agent, Dennis Latcher said: "Apart from the clubs we already know about, another Italian side has come forward for Arshavin.

"The team in question will be involved in the Champions League but I cannot say anymore than that."
