League One: We need to do fans proud, says Leeds ace Hughes
Midfielder Andrew Hughes is backing a packed Elland Road to help Leeds through their play-off semi-final against Carlisle.
More than 38,000 watched the clash against Gillingham last weekend, and a sell-out crowd will pack out the stadium on Monday.
Leeds had to settle for a play-off place after their appeal against their 15-point punishment failed, but Hughes is backing the fans to cheer Leeds to victory in the first leg, ahead of the second-leg return next Thursday.
"It was a great spectacle," said Hughes of the full house against Gillingham.
"It takes your breath away when it's like that I was honoured to be on the pitch in front of those fans, but that is Leeds United football club.
"There's no experience like that. I've been at different clubs and experienced different fans, but you can't find the words to describe what that was like on Saturday.
"We need to do them proud now and do it for ourselves."
