Arsenal legend Ian Wright insists he would hate to see Tottenham relegated from the Premier League - and reckons they need three experienced players to ensure they survive.
The former Gunners hitman says he is shocked by Spurs' start to the season and accused the White Hart Lane club of being a 'mess'.

However, the ex-England man insists Tottenham can get out of their current mess providing they keep under-fire boss Juande Ramos and draw up a plan to strengthen the playing squad.

"If I was their chairman, Daniel Levy, I would spend this morning drawing up a plan to sort it all out," he said.

"Firstly, I would call Juande Ramos into my office and tell him we were definitely not going to sack him.

"I would give him until the end of the season — whatever happened.

"I would then give Ramos enough money to sign who he wanted in January — with Gennaro Gattuso, Gianluca Zambrotta and Emile Heskey the top three players on my list.

"If Ramos knew he was definitely staying, and that he would be allowed to bring in fresh players when the transfer window reopens, then all the fans would have no choice but to get behind him.

"The current squad, even though some may have a problem with Ramos, would know it was pointless rocking the boat as the gaffer was going nowhere."

Wright, writing in his column in The Sun, added: "The fact Spurs have managed only four league goals this season is a pretty good indicator of where the biggest problem lies.

"Roman Pavlyuchenko has yet to adjust and Fraizer Campbell is still young, so I would still be looking for Darren Bent to score the goals.

"Darren has not played his best for Spurs but nor has he had a proper crack. He enjoyed two great seasons for Charlton, when he scored 31 Premier League goals in 68 starts, so do not tell me he has not got something.

"Wing man Aaron Lennon also needs a good talking to. He should be playing for England, not scraping a place in the Spurs team."

Wright concluded: "If Ramos is going to start emerging from Spurs with some credit, he has to start turning things around — fast.

"I love Arsenal but I would not like to see Spurs relegated."
