Nottingham Forest have further strengthened their squad by completing the double signing of Chris Gunter and Paul McKenna.

Wales international Gunter, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Forest last season, has joined in a £1.75million move from Tottenham and was desperate to make a permanent return to the City Ground after failing to win regular football at the Premier League club.

"I wasn't interested in moving anywhere else," he told the club's official website. "I was just praying that this move would happen and I'm delighted it has."

Forest have splashed out another hefty amount in bringing in McKenna from Preston after he completed his £750,000 move to the City Ground.

The 31-year-old leaves Deepdale after a 17-year stint with North End and is relishing a reunion with Billy Davies.

"I don't think there's any manager who has got more drive than Billy Davies," he said. "I'm really excited about the challenge ahead."
