An experimental short featuring original music by a county composer is the latest entry into Film Northants 2009.
The film competition, run by the Chronicle & Echo, in conjunction with Vue cinema, is in its second year and the deadline is August 21.

The entry by Charlotte Hollis and Kate Palmer was filmed using shots from Northampton College and Weston Favell shopping centre.

The pair decided to make the film after hearing the track by local musician Keir.

Spangler's Banner is based around the theme of paranoia and "a sense of confusion between reality and imagination."

The main character in the story is agitated with the world around him. Dark shots are used to portray his imagination and lighter shots show reality. The film also includes abstract shots throughout to illustrate the character's distress.
