A singer-songwriter with fans across the world has hit the top spot in a music chart.
Zallaz, better known as Northampton musician Kevin Misan, scored a number one last week with his song Going Down A One Way (The Wrong Way).
The song topped the charts on the iCompositions.com website, which has users from all corners of the globe.
Kevin said: "I'd made the chart before but never the top spot."
Writing in his blog on his MySpace internet page, he added: "You can never predict these things."
On the blog, he said the song was about "elevators, alligators, gambling, motoring, rail transport, currency, personal hygiene, soccer, extra-terrestial life forms, water pressure and Mr Magoo."
Kevin has hit number one before, but the success of Going Down A One Way was his first solo top spot.
As previously reported in the Chron, Kevin is on the hunt for musicians to form a band with.
He said: "I've been gigging solo acoustic, but finding musicians that want to play as hard as me has proved problematic. There's plenty of great musicians in Northampton if you want to do covers or just get drunk, but that's not my bag.
"It's the songs that matter to me."
The chart reflects songs which have been marked by website users as among their favourites, as well as number of plays and downloads, thus rating those songs which have been ranked highly across all areas. It also prevents cheating.
