A VILLAGE post office has won an award for its work in the community.
Creaton Post Office received its accolade yesterday in the Federation of Wholesale Distributors’ My Shop Is Your Shop campaign, which aims to promote the wholesale distribution chain and the community role played by independent shops.
Sylvia and David Winter have run the post office for the past nine years.
Sylvia said: “We were really delighted to win this award. It’s lovely to be recognised for the work we do.
“We campaigned very hard to keep a post office in the village and we always try to stock things our customers want, sell local produce and, where possible, employ local staff.
“We like to think we’ve got a good strong presence within the village. We’ve lived in the village for more than 30 years. We know all our customers and they know us.”
