Cobblers delighted with Northampton’s support
Marks & Spencer staff get behind our Cobblers to Cancer campaign.
COBBLERS bosses have said they are pleased with the support they have received from residents, businesses and organisations in Northampton as the club battles to avoid relegation.
Northampton Town are currently bottom of League Two, and wins in both the Macclesfield Town and Port Vale games next week could help the club avoid relegation.
With this in mind, tickets for those two games, on Tuesday and Saturday next week, have been discounted, and a portion of the price will go towards the Chron’s and Macmillan Cancer Support’s joint £1.55 million campaign to fund a new blood cancer treatment unit at Northampton General Hospital.
Cobblers spokesman Gareth Willsher said the club had been “delighted” with ticket sales so far.
He said: “Sales for the Port Vale game are slightly ahead of the Macclesfield game, but we are pleased with the level of interest in both. Traditionally most of our ticket sales are done in the 48 hours before the game, so we are looking forward to more sales raising even more valuable funds for the appeal.
“Some season ticket holders have contacted us to say they are keen to bring friends or colleagues to the games to support the appeal but there aren’t any available seats near to where they sit so we are reminding them they are welcome to swap their usual season ticket seat to a different seat if it helps.”
Adult tickets – normally priced £19 – cost £10, with £4 of that going to the Chron’s appeal. Children’s entry costs £5, with £2 going to the appeal.
