Pupils put on their wellies for charity
Children from the school council at Delapre Primary School, the school is taking part in the Cynthia Spencer Hospice welly walk at Delapre Abbey.
CHILDREN at a Northampton primary school put their best foot forward to support a sponsored Wellington boot walk.
Pupils at Delapre Primary School in Rothersthorpe Road were helping promote the Wiseman Welly Walk, sponsored by Robert Wiseman Dairies, which will take place at Delapre Abbey on Sunday, March 25.
The 5km walk aims to raise thousands of pounds for Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Kettering Road, and is expected to attract hundreds of participants, all of whom will wear the dairy company’s distinctive cow print wellies.
Harry Portrey, deputy headteacher at Delapre Primary School, said: “We are doing all we can to encourage pupils and their families, staff, and residents of Northampton to sign up and get involved.
“Taking part in the Wiseman Welly Walk is a great way for pupils of the school to support such a key part of our local community as well as get active and enjoy the surroundings of our neighbour, Delapre Abbey.”
John Jennings, manager of the Robert Wiseman Dairies site in Northampton, added: “The Wiseman Welly Walk is organised with families in mind.
“It’s an opportunity to come together to enjoy a Sunday stroll and raise funds for the local hospice at the same time.”
To register for the walk call Northampton 678082, email cshfundraising@nhft.nhs.uk or visit www.cynthiaspencerhospice.nhs.uk to download an application form.
