Group’s appeal wish granted
AN OVER-60s village community group celebrated the funds they had been awarded from a special scheme with the purchase of new equipment for guest speakers to use.
Hartwell Tuesday Circle, a social group for residents, met at Hartwell Community Centre in School Lane, to mark the arrival of a new PA system for guest speakers at meetings.
The group bought the equipment after they were chosen to receive a share of £50,000 in Community Gifts cash donated by Barclaycard, as part of last year’s Community Gifts awards.
Secretary of the club, Joan Wells, said: “The new equipment will make a huge amount of difference to our group. We meet in a large hall with big ceilings and this will make the talk easier for members to hear and more enjoyable.”
