Chris Wallis retiring after 50 years at SEC Electrical Ltd, he started as an apprentice at 15.

AN ELECTRICAL engineer who spent 50 years working for the same Northampton firm was presented with a gold watch at his retirement party.

Chris Wallis, aged 65, joined SEC Electrical as a 15-year-old apprentice and never left.

Mr Wallis, of Ecton, was given the watch during a formal presentation at his party at Overstone Manor.

Andy Savage, director of SEC Electrical, said: “Chris has been the heart of everything SEC has achieved over the last 50 years. He is a hardworking, trustworthy craftsman who will be missed.

“He is irreplaceable.

“We wish him well and hope he has a long happy retirement.”
