Domestic violence campaign launch

A CAMPAIGN against violence in the home has been launched by a domestic violence charity in Northamptonshire to coincide with the Rugby World Cup.

Northamptonshire Against Domestic Abuse, also known as NADA, is running the awareness campaign for the duration of the tournament, including taking out adverts on the side of buses around the county. During the Football World Cup incidents of reported domestic violence increased by 30 per cent.

A spokesman for the charity said: “We hope this will not happen during the Rugby World Cup but feel this is a good opportunity to raise awareness of the problems and the way in which agencies in the county can help victims of domestic abuse.”
