Bill battles for Greyfriars station

A PENSIONER has launched a one-man campaign to save Northampton’s Greyfriars bus station.

Eastfield resident Bill Tuttle, aged 69, who is a regular bus user, is spending several days each week walking around the town with a fluorescent sign which calls on Northampton Borough Council not to demolish the 36-year-old building.

He said: “I’ve spoken to quite a few people about it and they all want to save the bus station. Hopefully if a few more get on board, we can really start something.”

The council plans to demolish the bus station and build a replacement facility on the site of the Fishmarket.
