Cobblers boss Stuart Gray believes Bolton Wanderers will be under big pressure to dump his side from the Carling Cup tonight.
The Town manager is confident the weight of bumper Reebok Stadium crowd – boosted by cheap tickets – will be on the home side's shoulders, and that will be to his own players' advantage.

Bolton boss Gary Megson has confirmed he will be picking a s
trong side for the game, and wants the club to have a long run in this competition.

Gray's men are huge underdogs for the tie, and nobody is expecting anything other than a home win.

And the Sixfields chief wouldn't have it any other way.

"It will be totally different to anything we have encountered this season," he said.

"The pressure is all on Bolton tonight. We can go there totally relaxed and just play.

"Ideally we'd like to be playing them here in front of our own supporters.

"The best part of it is we've got a Premier League team and even if he (Gary Megson) makes 11 changes, they will all be quality players.

"The 11 Bolton put out will all get into my team, I know that much."

Meanwhile, Bolton boss Gary Megson will throw everything he can at the Carling Cup after making the competition one of his priorities.

Megson said: "It is a big priority. We have played two league games and we have taken three points.

"We have got a massive game at home against West Brom on the Saturday after, and then Fulham the Saturday after that away from home.

"But the priority now becomes beating Northampton at home. We want to do as well as we possibly can in that cup."

The Cobblers were today waiting on confirmation from Wolves to allow Mark Little to play at the Reebok Stadium and become cup-tied.

Player-of-the-year Danny Jackman is expected to be available for selection, though, and Colin Larkin has shrugged off a thigh injury to bolster Gray's options in the forwards department.
