Northampton midfielder Alex Dyer says he will knuckle down on the training ground in the hope Stuart Gray will reward him with a derby day place against Peterborough.
The Cobblers next outing sees them take on Peterborough United at Sixfields, the first time Posh have visited in nearly three years.

It's a game that everyone is desperate to be involved in, including youngster Dyer, who was given a rare start in midfield in the 1-0 defeat to Brighton in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

"I'm still only young and we have got a lot of good centre midfielders here so I have been working hard in training," said Dyer.

"And know that if I am performing well enough in training then the gaffer will have no hesitation in putting me in, which is a great thing to know. I'll just keep my head down, keep working and when I get a chance try to take it.

"Hopefully I can be involved. It should be near to a full house and I'm sure we will get a result."
