A father has complained to McDonald's after being served 'raw' chicken nuggets from a Northampton branch for the second time.

Three of the six McNuggets were uncooked in Jamie Duggan's takeaway from the Riverside Retail Park restaurant on Wednesday (March 4).

Fortunately his fiancée, Jenna Thompson, made the gross discovery before giving them to their four-year-old daughter, Violet, at home in Billing.

"The missus was being paranoid thinking she was going to choke on them so she cut one up and saw the pink insides," he said.

"So she cut the rest of them up and a few of them had raw, flesh-looking stuff in them."

Jamie complained to McDonald's on Twitter, saying he had been given raw nuggets at the restaurant in Weston Favell a few months ago.

The company replied saying it was sorry to hear about the incident and asked Jamie to message privately, which angered him as he wants them to deal with it in public.

"I've tried messaging them privately before but all they say is we can send you vouchers but I don't want more raw chicken," he said.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: "Food quality and safety are of the utmost importance to us. We place great emphasis on quality control and follow rigorous standards in order to avoid any imperfections.

"From the pictures provided, we believe the item in question could be a blood vessel which naturally occurs in the chicken breast fillet.

"We apologise that this wasn’t up to standard this time around and understand that our customer services team is currently in conversation with the customer to help find a resolution.”
